Sometimes, we feel like we don’t have the capacity to deal with the chaos of life. Sometimes, there is no way to prepare for its shocks and blows. But if we’re perpetually running away from the things that feel too hard to face, we’re defining ourselves by what we are seeking to avoid.
Wake up to the realization that you being in discomfort and grief about your struggling is just adding another layer to your pain. Do not let yourself be weighed down and torn apart by the waves, but be the water. Accept every challenge, embrace every obstacle, take away the power of sadness by welcoming it. In a society which pushes you to always be performing, managing, “doing okay” and rushing - slowing down, taking a deep breath and caring for yourself is the most radical and valuable act.
Let every emotion flow through you without holding on to it - don’t be attached, don’t judge, don’t regret. Give the darkness space so you can light it up.
